Hear what our other students have to say about their experience:

I’d been considering taking a woodworking class for a while, and finally came to CU Woodshop. Mike has been an excellent and enthusiastic instructor, and after my first class, I couldn’t wait to sign up for the next. I hadn’t had woodshop experience for quite some time, but Mike made everything clear and easy to understand for different levels of experience. This place is amazingly well-equipped. It really has been a great experience!                           -- Jessica Wong

STICKLEY CLOCK CLASS

with Mike Van Pelt

Mike,

Although it has been a few weeks since I took the Stickley clock class, I wanted to express my thanks to you and your staff for a great experience. The teacher was awesome and covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time. The clock was a great weeklong project. It was great fun working with a lot of nice woodworking equipment I do not have at home in my own shop.

Thanks again for a wonderful time,

Lou Ann

I very much enjoyed the class. Liked the lunch, too, as it meant we could visit and relax!

     -- Jack Reynolds

I liked the knowlege of the instructor, the use of equipment, the inspirational atmosphere, and the confidence I've gained! This was my first class; I just learned about your shop/school. I look forward to more!

Very good class. Enjoyed the lunch included in the fee. The instructor was very good and well-qualified.

LONG BOW CLASS

with Tom Turgeon

I really enjoyed Tom's classes- both building & finishing. Greatly impressed with the finished product- after shooting my "bow"!

     -- Phil S., Pekin, IL

Thank you, Tom for a great class! The handtool/woodworking skills that I learned making a long bow would have taken me years to learn on my own. You pass on your knowledge so easily regardless of your student's age or experience - this is a true gift! Thank you for passing on the spirit of the bowyer.

     -- Jeff M., Onarga, IL

I am 14 and took Mr. Tom's class with my dad- while he built a bow for my 11 year old sister. This was my first real woodworking project. It was SPECTACULAR! Mr. Tom is an excellent teacher. It was a very fun experience that I shared with my dad and I came away with an awesome bow!

     -- Charis (care-iss) S., Mattoon, IL (14 yrs old)

This was a fantastic course. Tom used teaching techniques which made learning easy and fun. I felt informed, supported, and set up for success throughout the entire course. As a bonus, I believe my bow is AWESOME!

     -- Dave S., Champaign, IL

Very enjoyable class. Tom is a great teacher - not too hands-on or hands-off - a good balance there. I recommend Tom's classes (Long Bow Building & Finishing) to anyone interested in bow building or practicing archery!

     -- Marty S., Racine, WI

These classes (Long Bow Building & Finishing) were awesome!

     -- Rob C., Champaign, IL

Very enjoyable class. Valuable woodworking techniques passed on to us students.

     -- Joshua S., Mattoon, IL
